Subject: Request for records from the Chancery Clerk & Harrison County Supervisors

Governor Ronnie Musgrove:

I have, as a citizen, voter, & taxpayers of Mississippi, have requested
records under the, "Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983."

You may view my request by going to:
Completed Public Records Form

Records show supervisors split escrow funds

Supervisors tap special account

SILENCE IS GOLDEN

The way I see it, the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983, is just a ploy
and make the Mississippi Legislature look as though they are serving the
people.

But in fact, our elected officials and state agencies are doing just the
opposite.

First, you must fill out a request form, this is supposed to obtain the
records you request.

If the records you are requesting are records the agency does not want you to
obtain the provide you with a cost of reproduction.

Here is the conflict, the voters and taxpayers pay for these services and
should not be made to pay twice or more for records which taxpayers have all
ready paid for.

All of the agency workers are paid by taxpayers money, they are responsible
for know about all of the records they deal with.

The other stumble block placed in the way in order to obtain records is the
wording, "Specific Records." Here you a person want to obtain records but
just does not know the specific wording, therefore he is told by the agency,
they just do not know what records he/she is requesting.

Then this person reads the actual wording my the Secretary of State, Eric
Clark. This tells the person that he/she may visit the agency and personally
go through records. But when this person makes his request to visit, he never
hears back from the agency.

So, here we have a law which is there to help the Mississippian's but when it
comes right down to it, the Mississippian's get the shaft once again.

Public Records Act 25-61-13

Sincerely,

Steven A. McCaleb

Brandi Sinopoli:

Please mail the request too me.

I hope this is not a ploy to drag this process out.

I know you would rather not provide me with the information I am requesting.

The wording in your email (specific records) as you know can make it impossible to obtain the records I am and will be requesting.

Since the records I am and will be requesting are available to the public, I may want to come to the clerks office and personally go through the records until I find the records I need.
