LONG BEACH MAYOR AND ALDERMEN HAVE ONE YEAR TO MAKE $650,000

LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI

No elected official would pass up taxpayers savings of $650,000 per year unless they knew making the savings up would not be a problem.

I am waiting for the Mayor and Aldermen to tell the taxpayers and voters of Long Beach, Mississippi, how they are going to makeup the short fall of $650,000.

After voting 5-2 against allowing Harrison County Sheriff's Department to take over the policing our city and saving the taxpayers $650,000 per year.

And now, I am sure all of the citizens of Long Beach will be watching at how our Mayor and Aldermen will makeup the $650,000 from February 2002 through February 2003.

Since everyone knows how strapped Long Beach is, and finding a way to save $650,000 per year is like a godsend to the taxpayers and voters of Long Beach.

I am sure our elected officials in Long Beach knew they could makeup that money without a problem.

Since our police department is having such hard time and giving way to economics is the smart way to go.

And I believe that our elected officials knew that by voting 5-2 against saving $650,000 and knowing how Long Beach needs taxpayer’s money to provide services, (like drainage).

So, now, "We the People," must wait and watch how our elected officials will makeup the $650,000 shortfall.
