BRIAN HARRIS MINI

THE BELOW IS THE RECEIPT OF MY FIRST TEN THOUSAND MILE CHECK-UP, AS YOU CAN SEE NOT MUCH WAS DONE, IN FACT I DON'T KNOW IF ANY OF THE WORK WAS DONE.

I REQUESTED TOO BE PLACED WHERE I COULD BE ABLE TO WATCH THE WORK BEING PREFORMED ON MY MINI, AND I WAS TOLD THAT I COULD BE.

BUT ONCE I ARRIVED AT BRIAN HARRIS MINI NO ONE WANTED TO EVEN TALK TOO ME, I HAD TO REQUEST EVERYTHING INCLUDING BEING TOLD THAT MY MINI HAD BEEN SERVICED.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ESTABLISHMENT WHERE I WAS DEALT WITH, WITH SUCH RUDENESS!!!!

Hi Steven,

Thanks for writing MINI.  I'm sorry to hear about the high pitched noise coming from your MINI above 90mph.

Please be assured the quality of our vehicles receives our constant attention, nevertheless, despite our best efforts, a problem may occur with a particular vehicle or component.  In addition, I am not able to advise you in a technical matter via e-mail.  I would suggest speaking directly with the service manager at Brian Harris MINI about the fact that this problem is not fixed.  The service manager has access to MINI engineering and regional representatives who are in the best position to review your concerns if needed.

I apologize for any disappointment or frustration this has caused.  If there are further questions I can assist with, please feel free to drop me an e-mail.  I will be happy to lend a hand.

My position is this: BRIAN HARRIS MINI sold me a new Mini cooper S 2006 for $21,747, It was purchased to be without defects.

I have and they have (BRIAN HARRIS MINI) proven that there is a defect concerning a high pitched sound coming from the Mini.

It does not matter now whether the sound is at 90 mph or not. two of there best (Brian and Dale) heard the sound over a long period of time while ridding with me.

They have proven that they worked on the defect but have not cured the problem.

BRIAN HARRIS lied to you when that claimed they had not ridden with me of two occasions.

I have contacted the ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE, BATON ROUGE, LA. AND HAVE RECEIVED CONFORMATION WHICH IS WILL PLACE IN THE EMAIL.

I have contacted another Mini Dealer which will try to fix the defect, something that BRIAN HARRIS MINI, is responsibility but refuses to honor the warranty.

I have been waited for BRIAN HARRIS to contact me concerning this matter, I have tried to work with them for 4 occasions but they refuses to except responsibility therefore the are not a credible MINI DEALERSHIP.

Please try again to get BRIAN HARRIS MINI to take responsibility for the defective new Mini Cooper S, 2006 which was sold too me without defects.

Sincerely,

Meg, what you were told was a lie on both occasions, I have never met Johnny, he, to my knowledge has never drove or rode in my Mini, and never has the high pitched sound been heard below 90mph.

Now, I know you would like to not have anything too do with me on this matter, but I feel that since BRIAN HARRIS MINI, will go to lengths of lying to you, they will lie too everyone.

My web site, explains what has happened on the three occasions which I drove, Brian, then Dale, on one other on the interstate. They have never driven my Mini.

The sound has always been at 90 mph and above, that has been established at Brian Harris Mini.

I am still asking for you support and help letting people know that BRIAN HARRIS MINI, BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA, will and has lied.

They deal in Money, lots of it, therefore I am just one person that's trying too right a wrong.

Please speak with Brian Harris Mini again and see it you can get this car dealership to tell the truth about the matter.

Sincerely,

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your patience in this matter.

I was able to speak with Brian Harris MINI about the noise you are experiencing in your MINI.  Johnny, their service manager, informed me that they test drove your vehicle on two occasions and that the first time at speeds of about 70 to 75 miles per hour, they were able to hear a noise.  Johnny also informed me that they were able to make some adjustments and fix this issue.  However, when they drove with you on a second occasion at higher speeds, they were not able to duplicate the issue.  Unfortunately, we are not permitted to request our dealerships to break any speed limit laws for diagnosis purposes.  Therefore, it is not possible to attempt to duplicate this issue again if it is still occurring at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour.  I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

MINI COOPER DEALERSHIPS IN THE UNITED STATES

August 10, 2007 -  My day with Brian Harris Mini, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Parties involved: Mr. Brian Harris (Himself)

Mr. Henry Sharp

Mr. Bill Smith  ( Mini Representative) the man which was going to help me - BS!

MR. Tod Furford, Memphis, Tennessee Mini Dealer, Senior Advisor ( 1-901-365-1900 ) called me on August 9, 2007 to explain how Mr. Bill Smith was going the be the man to get my car fixed.

It should be noted here that Brian Harris Mini would not contact me concerning this matter.

Mechanic's

Brian

Dale

another I don't have a name for.

ALL THREE ROAD WITH ME AND HEARD THE DEFECT SOUND MY MINI HAS.

Arrived at Brian Harris Mini at 10 AM, August 10, 2007.

Was too meet with Mr. Henry Sharp

and Mr. Bill Smith (The man that stated that he could not do anything for me, because he will not ride in a Mini going 90 mph in order to here the defect in my 2006 Mini Cooper S.

But if I wanted to rent a Race Track that he would check out my car, but that I would have to pay for the track. (Bad Statement)

Warranty: I am with the understanding that when you purchase a new vehicle that it is clear of all defects. (true or false)
False!!

The Mini dealer states that because the defect is only heard at 90 mph and above the are not responsible for the defect.

I purchased a 2006 Mini Cooper Supercharger automobile, speedometer 150 mph, perhaps the Mini Cooper should not be sold in the United States - this car is designed to be driven at fast speeds.

Now how do I as the purchaser get Brian Harris Mini New Car Dealer to either fix or replace my Mini Cooper S, 2006.

According to Mr. Bill Smith there is nothing that can be done!!

According to Mr. Henry Smith, it's a catch 22 problem, since the high pitched sound in only heard above 90 mph - nether Brain Harris Mini nor Mr. Bill Smith will take responsibility.

Note: While I was in conference with Mr. Henry Sharp and Mr. Bill Smith, I suggested that perhaps the Baton Rouge Police Department would provide a police escort in order to reach the necessary speed to hear the high pitched sound at 90 mph.

I phoned the Baton Rouge Police Department (389-5000) as explained the problem, the dispatcher stated they could not get involved in the matter, but I should sue Brian Harris Mini on a civil suite.

By the time I got off the phone and returned to Mr. Henry Sharps' office their was Captain O'neal, of the Baton Rouge Police/Sheriffs department standing in Mr. Henry Sharps Office.

Captain O'neal explained too me that he should not authorize anyone to allow me to drive 90 mph on the road.

(I will explain more later)

So that is where I stand on this matter, fourth trip to Brian Harris Mini, and nothing got done.

I plan on running a 3 or 6 month survey on the internet to see where the public stands on the problem.

This article is placed here because I received a fax from ALLEN TOYOTA out of the blue, I phoned ALLEN TOYOTA and spoke with the Katy Hill about this fax, but she stated she did not no anything about the fax being sent too me.

I believe it is a test of Brian Harris, it the truth be known someone knows someone at each auto dealership.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) and Toyota Motor signed an agreement under which Toyota will supply diesel engines for BMW'S new Mini from 2003. The agreement provides for between 10,000 and 20,000 engines per year according to BMW Minis equipped with diesel engines will go on sale next year.

Thanks for the endorsement of Brain Harris Mini Dealer, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The next closes Mini Dealer too me is Memphis, Tennessee which is seven hour drive from where I live.
I believe Brian Harris Mini should hold up its warranty, My Mini Cooper S 2006 is about 9 months old and has about 5,500 miles on it.

I purchased and paid cash for the Mini and was supposed to have been free of defects, if I drive to Memphis, Tennessee then the cost should be paid by Brian Harris MIni.

You stated too me after you phones me and went through the survey which was about Brian Harris Mini, that I would be getting a call from Brain Harris Mini around 10am the next day, but no one from Brian Harris Mini called me, and has not called at all.

This email and your answer will be placed in my web page, I get a lot of hits and this article will be passed along to other Mini Owners.

Sincerely,

Steven A. McCaleb

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the noise you are experiencing being a common problem on 2006 Cooper S MINIs.  Since you have concerns about the diagnosis you are receiving from Brain Harris MINI, the only other suggestion I can offer is to consider seeking a second opinion from another MINI dealer.  If you need it, you can find a list of our MINI dealers and their contact information on our website, MINIUSA.com, under “Shop" and then "Find A MINI Dealer.”

If there are further questions I can assist with, please feel free to drop me an e-mail.  I would be happy to lend a hand.

question/comment:
I have a problem with a high pitched sound, when I reach from 90mph and above I get this high pitched sound which seem like it is coming from the passenger side of the car.

I purchased my Mini Cooper 2006 last October and have taken the car back to Brian Harris Mini, Baton Rouge, La., in order to fix the problem.

I just spent and overnight stay in order to give the service department time enough to find and fix this high pitched sound problem.

When I picked up my Mini the next day I was told that the problem had been fixed, Dale was the service department person.

While driving back home, Long Beach, Mississippi, I found that the sound problem was not fixed and I still have the same high pitched sound.

I would like too have this problem fixed, or my Mini replaced with one which does not have this sound.

This is my third attempt to have the problem resolved at Brain Harris Mini, and the problem still exist.

Please reply
