The below are a conversations I have had with WRANPS current paid Intern.

The second E-Mail is where I have tried many times to get Katy Pope, President of WRANPS to talk too me.

SAMCC69: Katy, you forgot to tell me if you are still moving from the USM land Ktraina: Sorry, this is Katy's intern, she's left for the night!

SAMCC69: Do you know if WRANPS is moving

Ktraina: I've heard lots of rumors that it is, but nothing definite, and no idea where, how, when etc

Ktraina: for now it's enough to keep it going where it is

SAMCC69: Would Dr. Horace Fleming know if I emailed him

SAMCC69: The President of USM

Ktraina: no idea

Ktraina: Suppose it can't hurt?

SAMCC69: How long have been with WRANPS

Ktraina: two months

Ktraina: *thinks there's nothing wrong with being careful, and would prefer to know yours first*

Ktraina: certainly shall... I found this internship off of the website WRANPS had at the time (late April)

Ktraina: to the U.S. *Yes* but, I'm somewhat of a vagrant, or Zebedee... I'm originally from Maine

SAMCC69: Sorry, Your

SAMCC69: I have been to Maine, it was very cold

SAMCC69: Where are you from outside the states

Ktraina: Posh ;) I love the cold

Ktraina: no no... I'm local to the US...

SAMCC69: I went around the world 3 time in the Military

SAMCC69: Sorry, I misunderstood you

SAMCC69: I liked the lobsters in Maine, and I ate many of them

Ktraina: in segments, or were you stationed on the CBS satellyte?

SAMCC69: No, I was a Seabee (Navy) here at Gulfport

SAMCC69: How long will you be with WRANPS as an intern

Ktraina: Lord knows... I was supposed to stay til the end of June, but it's just Katy, and I working here now(there has to be two people here every day, so that means 7 day work weeks for us), and she doesn't have another intern lined up until July 1st, so I doubt she'll let me go anytime that soon... *may have to leave in the night* ... (I'm kidding by the way...don't tell Katy I even joked about it, she might freak out)

SAMCC69: Why so few people there now

SAMCC69: Don't the board members help out

Ktraina: no luck finding an intern, and our volunteer crew is petering out on us... the workload is getting ridiculous, and every time they walk through wranps front door, we can load them with more than enough work to keep anyone busy a long time...

Ktraina: we get some help from the board members, but they don't really work here... all the volunteers who do help out, have already gotten maxed to the limits

SAMCC69: It sounds like your labor force is quiting

Ktraina: feels that way too... *shows a muscle* thanks heavens Katy, and I are made of steel ;)

SAMCC69: I heard from the television WLOX-13 that WRANPS did not get any grant money this year

Ktraina: I don't know what much goes on for that... I think it was just one grant that they normally get, that they didn't... they obviously got SOME, because I have a roof over my head tonight, that I didn't pay for

SAMCC69: Does an Intern get a wage

Ktraina: the real problem is that more people know about WRANPS, and obviously over time we collect animals... so the # of animals is always climing

Ktraina: Chevron sponsors an intern house, and $100 a week!

Ktraina: climbing...sorry

SAMCC69: Wranps has gotten grants for FY 1997, 1998 & 2000 of $70,000.00

SAMCC69: But they were from the Department of Marine Resources/Tidelands Trust Fund

SAMCC69: I did not know Chevron was a paying sponsor

Ktraina: I think it's bad that the Humane society is making a fuss at the same time... people's heartstrings go out to rows of homeless puppies.... if only WRANPS had a petting zoo, we'd be wealthier than IBM

SAMCC69: I am happy to here that you have a roof over your head

Ktraina: I have a digital camera, if you can use pictures?

SAMCC69: Are you at the WRANPS center now, still working

Ktraina: not working...slacking off... feeding baby birds... I just wanted to use the internet for a bit(first time I've been online in 2 months)

SAMCC69: 2 months is a long time

SAMCC69: I am on the InterNet every day

Ktraina: it's gone pretty fast....

SAMCC69: You will not be here very long if you leave in July

Ktraina: I wanted to take this job to get away from computers... my last job was nothing but

SAMCC69: Are you going back to Maine

Ktraina: no, I'll go stay with some friends in D.C. for a while...I'd like to do some hiking in Nova Scotia though before the summer ends

SAMCC69: Nova Scotia, I have never been there, but I here its a nice place

SAMCC69: Are you planning to travel a lot - you must be young

Ktraina: bebe birdees are needing a feed... I should probably head home... was nice meeting you ! (haven't talked to anyone but Katy for the last 3 days)...

SAMCC69: OK, sorry your having to work you butt off out there

SAMCC69: You know the privacy fence and the building around the fence

Ktraina: no idea....

SAMCC69: On the hill where the wooden fence is

Ktraina: there's no hills around here

SAMCC69: Are you at Pass Christian

Ktraina: yeah...

SAMCC69: There is a wooded privacy fence around a building

SAMCC69: wooden

Ktraina: ok yeah

SAMCC69: I saw it on TV about 3 weeks ago

Ktraina: yeah

SAMCC69: I was contracted to build that fence and finish the building back in 1991 - WRANPS still owes me $7,790 for labor and material's plus stolen tools and profit.

Ktraina: k...I'm heading off into the blackness to try and find my car with a bunch of baby birds

SAMCC69: OK, check out my web site it will explain

Ktraina: LOL ... good ole WRANPS... they owe me $31. in Grocery money for yogurt, spinach, and sweet potatoe baby food, and about a $100 worth of gas money... it's all a labour of love;)

SAMCC69: You must have a lot of money yourself

Ktraina: it's for a good cause though...we help a lot of animals...Katy has a real gift

Ktraina: no...I made out good on tax returns this year...that's why I'm able to eat, and clothe myself

SAMCC69: I will chat with you later
